Prom Fundraising
Well done to the Five Acres High School Prom Committee
Five Acres High School Prom was a huge success this year with students arriving in all forms of transport....from Ice Cream Vans to Lorries and Bentleys to tractors!
The Prom was held at The Speech House Hotel and, as always, was overwhelmingly supported by parents, grandparents and other members of our close community.
This year’s fund raising by the Prom Committee allowed us to cover the cost of the subsidised tickets (reduced ticket price for all students) as well as give away money to charity. This year the Prom Committee bought favours for the tables raising £250 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Additionally, we were able to donate a further £1000 to Great Oaks Dean Forest Hospice.
Great Oaks Dean Forest Hospice offer a range of services for adults with serious illness that potentially may shorten their lives and is currently affecting their quality of life. Their work is provided by experienced staff and aided by trained volunteers. The Hospice needs £600,000 each year to fund their services, the NHS contributes 15% and the rest is generated through their shops, fundraising events, grants, donations and legacies. The Five Acres High School Prom Committee were delighted to contribute to them this year.
I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this years Prom another success- students/staff/parents/carers all came together to provide a truly memorable evening. I would also like to thank the community for their support with our fundraising efforts.
Mr Hayward
