Despite the strange times that we are currently experiencing, we want to reassure you that our transition coordinator, Mr Chris Jones, is still liaising with our feeder primary schools and planning transition events (and contingency transition events) for prospective students.
Despite the disruptions to the academic year, we still plan to run Year 6 Welcome Days on the week beginning Monday 29 June. If that is not possible, we will look to use one of our INSET days in September as a New Year 7 Welcome Day. Furthermore, we are still planning to go on our Year 7 Bonding Residential at the end of September, although we have also arranged contingency dates for this. We want to ensure that your child’s transition from primary to secondary school remains as smooth as possible.

Five Acres High School prides itself as having a strong reading culture. Every school day starts with the Tutor Time Reading Programme where students listen to their tutor read as they follow along in their own text. Whilst students have been learning remotely they have been following along to this online video. Please join in with our Year 7s and enjoy The House with Chicken Legs and Welcome to Nowhere at home before you join us in September: GLT Year 7 Tutor Reading Programme
