Interactive Media is the integration of digital media including combinations of electronic text, graphics, moving images and sound, into a structured digital computerised environment that allows people to interact with the data for appropriate purposes. This qualification focuses on applied study of the Interactive Media sector.
The qualification begins with an introduction into Interactive Media and the factors that influence the choices made in development process. Students are given the fundamental skills with a range of software that will facilitate the production of a media product. Students are then expected to develop their ideas through exploration and experimentation which will result in a final media product in response to a specific brief given to them by a client. Students will carry out research into the Media industries and develop an understanding of how the skills they have acquired has prepared them for future employment with and the breadth and volumes of roles within the creative industries.
