Five Acres High School

Virtual Roll Call

Dear Parent/Carer

Let me start by saying a huge thank you for supporting your child through their remote learning. I am incredibly confident in our curriculum offer and your child's full engagement in this will ensure they return to school feeling confident and successful.

We are constantly looking for ways to improve and update our remote learning offer and we are excited to announce that we will be running Virtual Roll Calls in the morning. This will be hosted by your child’s Head of Year, and they will be passing out messages to the students for the day ahead. We are keen to continue this sense of community within the school and this is a great way to bring all of the students together at the start of each day.

We appreciate how hard it can be for students to maintain good routines and this is just one of the many ways we can support your child with this and to ensure your child is getting the full benefits of the curriculum. I would like to stress the importance of sticking to the normal school timings and following their timetable closely. This is not only important as the teachers of students in year 10 & 11 have been made specifically available their timetabled lesson times to provide live feedback but these habits will serve them well when they return to school. The timings of these Roll Calls are below:

Year 7 - Mr Jones 8.30 - 8.40
Year 8 - Mr Jones 8.40 - 8.50
Year 9 - Mr Hayward 8.30 - 8.40
Year 10 - Mr Hayward 8.40 - 8.50
Year 11 - Mr Meldrum 8.30 - 8.40

We will use attendance at Roll Call to inform our levels of communication with you and to help support your child through their remote learning. This process will start from Monday 18 January 2021

We are really looking forward to continuing to build a sense of community between staff and students at Five Acres High School.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Mr Meldrum, Assistant Headteacher
